Michael Smith Physiotherapist

“I believe our job as physios is to help people in pain and promote healthy lifestyle habits around exercise, and in doing so improve people’s lives” - Michael Smith. Michael has always had a passion for sports and exercise, starting from a young age playing Tee-Ball and swimming, moving through various other sports, and all the way up to competing in Ballroom Dancing locally and competing in OCR and capoeira internationally. This passion and interest in the movement of the body led him to make it his profession. Having graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) he is now able to put the things he has learned throughout his degree and his own experience into practice to help others. Michael has a special interest in strength and conditioning, and musculoskeletal injuries and believes that by using the right of combination of hands-on treatments, exercises, and load management, it’s possible to reduce people’s pain and prevent further injuries in the future. Having had his own share of injuries and setbacks throughout the years, Michael is very understanding of what its like to be in pain. This allows him to help people manage their pain in a very empathetic and caring manner. Outside of work Michael keeps himself very active, spending plenty of time at the gym, as well as doing both ballroom dancing and capoeira with aims to compete in both sports internationally next year.
