Melissa Booyens

Melissa qualified from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2016. She completed a postgraduate qualification in Sports Physiotherapy (SPT1) in 2018, finishing 2nd in her class. Melissa believes in hands-on therapy and using exercise to correct imbalances in order to prevent re-injury in the future. She also focuses on determining the cause of injuries and pain and not just managing the symptoms. She has a special interest in treating sporting injuries, general musculoskeletal complaints and over use conditions as well as patients with chronic pain. Melissa has also completed a course in the rehabilitation of athletes following a concussion. Melissa has always believed in living an active lifestyle. At school she competed provincially in indoor netball, hockey, and squash. Over the last 5 years she has focused more on CrossFit and running. Her other hobbies including reading and spending time with her family.
