Pilates Instructor
"I want to share my experience to help you learn your body in a meaningful, accepting manner. Let the Journey of health, fitness and well-being begin!"
After working for 10 years as a swim school supervisor teaching children, adults and Instructors important life skills through moment in the water I was after a career change. I had always had a passion for fitness and sports and knew my new career path needed to incorporate it. It was suggested by a family member that I look into Reformer Pilates. I began studying Comprehensive Pilates with Body Balance at the beginning of 2021 and have since completed all modules, Mat I, Mat II and Mat III; Reformer I, II, III; Chair and Barrels, Tower or Trap Table, and an anatomy pre-requisite. It wasn’t long before I jumped into teaching classes, putting my study into practice. With over 532 practical hours required I am on the home stretch and ready to test out my practice later in 2023 A small personal story from me. I lost my Mother in 2016 to Motor Neurons (MND), seeing her body waste and no longer function the way it was made too was very impactful in my life. I realised how important it was to love your body, not for how it was when we were 16 or 23 or 45 but for what it is right now. Being in your body and in the moment. I have seen the Pilates industry begin to transform in the last few years, it is more available to all, more diverse than ever and a safe place to learn and grow. I will always believe a great instructor is not the most flexible or fancy but one who is approachable, fun and welcoming. That is my approach and I hope you feel that when ever you in for a class.
